COOKIE POLICY

Last Updated: 11 August 2026

My website uses cookies. Some are needed for the site to work at all. Others only run if you agree to them.

This page explains what each one does and how to change your mind at any time.

What Is A Cookie?

A cookie is a small file stored by your browser when you visit a website. It lets the site remember things between pages and visits, like the choices you have made about cookies themselves.

What I Use Them For

Functional cookies keep the site working. They remember your cookie preferences and let forms and booking tools function. These are always active, because the site cannot work without them.

Statistics cookies tell me how people use the site, which pages they read and where they arrive from. I use this to improve the site. These only run if you agree.

Preference and marketing cookies are only set by third-party tools where you have consented to them.

Functional Cookies

Complianz sets cmplz_functional, cmplz_statistics, cmplz_preferences, cmplz_marketing, cmplz_consented_services, cmplz_policy_id and cmplz_banner-status. These remember your cookie choices and expire after 365 days.

WordPress sets wp-settings and wp-settings-time to store display preferences, expiring after up to a year, and wpEmojiSettingsSupports to check browser support, which expires at the end of your session.

Google reCAPTCHA sets _grecaptcha, rc::a, rc::b and rc::c to protect my forms from spam and automated submissions. _grecaptcha expires after 6 months. The others last for your session or until cleared.

Calendly sets _calendly_session so the booking tool works. It expires at the end of your session.

Statistics Cookies

These only run if you have agreed to statistics cookies.

Google Analytics 4 sets _ga to tell visitors apart and _ga_FKS6DV4SBE to keep session state. Both expire after 2 years.

Elementor sets a cookie recording actions taken on the site. It has no set expiry.

Google Fonts

Google Fonts reads your IP address to load the fonts used on this site. Nothing is stored on your device.

Marketing Cookies

These only run if you have agreed to marketing cookies.

Google Maps provides the map on my contact page. When it loads, Google sets cookies on your device and receives your IP address.

Where This Data Goes

Google reCAPTCHA, Google Analytics, Google Fonts and Google Maps are provided by Google. Calendly is a separate provider. Both are based outside the UK, and transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards.

Changing Your Mind

You were asked to choose your preferences on your first visit. To change them, use the cookie settings link in the footer and update your choices.

You can also delete cookies through your browser settings, or set your browser to warn you before accepting them. If you block all cookies, parts of this site may stop working properly.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information I hold, to object to or restrict how it is used, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. My Privacy Policy explains this in full.

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
