I’m Leon Coupe, a Northampton personal trainer with 15 years of experience helping people build leaner, stronger and healthier bodies without fitness taking over their lives.
No extreme diets, endless workouts or guesswork. Just structured training, practical nutrition and clear accountability built around your work, family and lifestyle.
Train with me one-to-one at The Foundry in Northampton, or work with me online from anywhere.

FROM 132 KG TO 96 KG — 36 KG DOWN
Ahmed had never trained a day in his life before he came to me. He outlasted the hard weeks, learned to love the gym, and changed his body through willpower, patience, and consistency.
I walked in clueless and nervous. Leon took the pressure off, and the weight came off with it, month after month.
-20 KG FAT, +5 KG MUSCLE
Gary was 52 when he arrived, carrying the damage of years of bad advice. We tore it up and rebuilt it around proper training, enough food, and actual recovery.
Abs, at my age. I stopped believing that was possible years ago. Turns out I just needed the right plan and the patience to stick to it.
1ST PLACE · BIKINI CATEGORY
Andreea had never set foot on a competition stage before. After a year of training, sixteen weeks of focused prep took her to a PCA show, where she won the bikini category and earned her place at the British Finals.
I watched Leon compete and thought there was no way I could do that. A year later, I was on stage winning my category. He believed in me long before I believed in myself.
LEANER AND STRONGER
Carlo had plenty of enthusiasm but no clear direction. Structured training took him through a recomposition phase, into a lean bulk, and finished with a cut.
The biggest thing I learned was to stop chasing quick results. Having a clear plan and trusting the process made all the difference, and the results were better than I ever expected.

I’m a full-time Northampton personal trainer with 15+ years of hands-on coaching experience and a background in competitive natural bodybuilding.
I don’t chase trends or sell quick fixes. My approach is grounded in science, shaped by experience, and focused entirely on what actually works long-term.
Everything I coach comes back to one thing: simple, structured habits done consistently well.

No. Cutting out foods you enjoy is the fastest way to make a diet you can’t stick to, and a diet you can’t stick to won’t get you anywhere.
You’ll get a structured approach built around whole foods, sensible portions, and habits that fit your actual life. Gareth lost over 37kg without giving up his beer or his holidays. Hanna lost over 21kg while making choices she could keep making after the weight came off.
The aim is consistency, not perfection. If your plan falls apart the first time you go out for dinner, it was the wrong plan.
No. Building a significant amount of muscle takes years of deliberate training, eating in a surplus, and doing it consistently. It doesn’t happen by accident, and it doesn’t happen quickly.
For most people, lifting weights does the opposite of what they’re worried about. It holds onto muscle while you lose fat, which is what makes the difference between simply weighing less and actually looking different. Strength work also supports your joints, your posture, and your ability to keep training as you get older.
Your programme is built around your goal. If you want to lose fat and feel stronger without adding size, that’s what we train for.
Personal training is hands-on. We train together at Foundry Gym Northampton, I coach your technique in the moment, and I adjust the session as it happens based on what I’m seeing in front of me.
Online coaching gives you the same programming and nutrition guidance, but you train on your own schedule. Your plan comes through the app, you log your sessions, and we adjust things through weekly check-ins.
The honest answer is that in-person suits you if you want someone in the room, whether that’s for technique, motivation, or simply having the session in the diary. Online suits you if you’re happy to train alone but want the structure and accountability behind it.
If you’re local and undecided, book an assessment, and we’ll work it out then. That conversation is what the assessment is for.
No. Most people who come to me haven’t trained before, or haven’t trained in years, and almost everyone feels self-conscious about that at the start.
Ahmed, whose before and after is further up this page, had never set foot in a gym before his first session. Eighteen months later he was 36kg down. Teddy came in with no experience at all and completely changed his body in twelve weeks.
Everything is built around where you are now. I’ll teach you the technique, start you at a level that’s manageable, and progress it as you get stronger. You won’t be thrown into anything you’re not ready for, and you won’t be left guessing what to do.
Personal training sessions are bought in blocks and used at whatever pace suits you, with sessions valid for 24 weeks from purchase. There’s no ongoing contract and no monthly commitment.
Online coaching runs month to month at £100. There are no contracts, so if you want to stop you cancel before your next payment date.
Either way, you’re never locked in. If something isn’t working, tell me and we’ll adjust it.
Everything starts with a 60-minute Initial Assessment at Foundry Gym Northampton.
We’ll talk through your goals, your training history, and anything that’s got in the way before. I’ll assess how you move, and by the end you’ll have a clear plan showing exactly what needs to happen to get the results you’re after.
There’s no obligation to book a package afterwards. If you do decide to go ahead, the £40 assessment fee comes off your first block.
You can book your assessment on the personal training page.
Personal training with me in Northampton costs between £32 and £45 per session. Sessions are bought in blocks of 4, 8, 12 or 16, working out at £40, £37, £34 and £32 per session respectively. A single session is £45. The initial assessment is £40, credited against your first block if you go ahead.
Sessions are held at Foundry Gym on Bridge Street, and a Foundry membership is required. That’s £34.99 per month with a £10 joining fee, or £360 for the year with no joining fee, paid directly to the gym.
Yes. Personal training clients need a Foundry Gym membership. It’s £34.99 per month on a rolling basis with a £10 joining fee, or £360 paid annually with no joining fee, which works out to around £70 cheaper over a year. Membership is paid directly to Foundry, not to me, and gives you 24/7 access to train on your own between our sessions.
I coach one-to-one sessions at Foundry Gym Northampton from 5 am to 6 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 5 am to 10:30 am on Saturday. I don’t coach on Wednesdays or Sundays. Foundry is open 24/7, so you can train on your own outside those hours.
